Health and Safety Policy

Armona Denizcilik A.Ş. aims to provide a safe and healthy working environment where all operations are executed efficiently. We are committed to preventing loss of life, work-related injuries and illnesses, and damage to property through proper planning and safe work practices.

Our Commitments

  • Prevent loss of life, injuries, illnesses, and property damage through safe and hygienic operations.
  • Meet or exceed applicable regulatory and industry requirements and regularly assess compliance.
  • Ensure Health and Safety is the foundation of all company instructions and operational planning.
  • Identify hazards, assess risks onboard and ashore, and implement appropriate safeguards.
  • Set Health and Safety objectives and targets to measure performance and reduce risk.
  • Encourage full participation of personnel in identifying unsafe situations and implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain emergency preparedness through rigorous drills monitored by shore personnel.
  • Provide sufficient information, equipment, and training to support competent and safe operations.
  • Implement and continuously improve a documented management system aligned with ISM Code and ISO 45001.

Master’s Overriding Authority

The Master has overriding authority and responsibility to make decisions necessary to protect life at sea, the vessel, the crew, and the marine environment. No commercial pressure shall compromise safety or environmental protection.

Environmental Management Policy

Armona Denizcilik A.Ş. recognizes the impact of sea transport on the environment and is fully committed to environmental protection and pollution prevention both ashore and at sea. We strive to meet and exceed all applicable environmental requirements and continuously assess compliance.

Our Environmental Commitments

  • Fully embrace MARPOL and related applicable laws and requirements under ISO 14001, national and international regulations, port state controls, and flag state requirements.
  • Proactively identify and manage environmental risks and sources of pollution, including:
    • Incineration, noise, waste/garbage, sewage, fouling paints
    • Oil/NLS spills, dangerous goods, ballast water transfer
    • Refrigerants/halons/CFCs, cargo vapor, engine emissions

Zero Spill, Zero Pollution

We maintain a ZERO SPILL, ZERO POLLUTION tolerance culture by:

  • Setting measurable environmental targets and objectives, monitoring performance, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Assessing environmental and energy aspects and risks, implementing measures to reduce impact and improve efficiency.
  • Building competence and awareness through training and motivation.
  • Enforcing a zero-tolerance approach to violations, which may result in termination and potential criminal liability.

Master’s Overriding Authority

The Master may take immediate action to protect life, vessel, and environment, including deviation from normal procedures where required, with prompt notification to the Company and DPA.

Quality Policy

All vessels managed by Armona Denizcilik A.Ş. operate in accordance with ISO 9001:2015. We maintain a structured quality management framework to establish, review, and improve quality objectives, and to meet or exceed applicable regulatory and industry requirements.

  • Maintaining fleet condition to ensure reliable performance, structural integrity, and fitness for service.
  • Applying procedures and disciplines that ensure effective system implementation aligned with company objectives.

Drug and Alcohol Policy

Armona Denizcilik A.Ş. recognizes that alcohol, drug, or other substance abuse can impair performance and negatively affect operational safety and efficiency.

DRY SHIPS Standard (Zero Tolerance)

All fleet vessels are DRY SHIPS. This means:

  • Possession or use of any drugs and/or alcohol is strictly prohibited onboard company vessels.
  • Prescribed medication is permitted only under controlled conditions and in line with medical advice.
  • Crew may be required to undergo drug and/or alcohol testing.
  • Refusal to comply with testing may result in immediate termination of contract.

This policy applies to shipboard and shore-based employees.

Ethics and Conduct Policy

Armona Denizcilik A.Ş. places high value on transparency and ethical conduct. All personnel are expected to carry out duties in an honest and professional manner, complying with the spirit and letter of all applicable laws and regulations.

Our Ethical Standards

We are committed to:

  • Maintaining integrity and professionalism in all activities across office and vessel operations.
  • Taking action against obstruction, false information, or false statements during inspections, monitoring, or audits.
  • Ensuring no employee suffers negative consequences for reporting HSEQ violations in good faith.
  • Applying disciplinary action (including dismissal where necessary) for deviations from defined operating procedures.

Relationships and Gifts

  • We treat integrity in customer dealings as a prerequisite for long-term relationships.
  • No employee may offer money or gifts of significant value, or anything that could be interpreted as a bribe.
  • We protect confidential customer information as we protect our own.
  • We aim to build supplier relationships based on mutual trust and pay according to agreed terms.
  • Small tokens/hospitality may be accepted only if reasonable, non-obligating, not misconstrued, and disclosed to the employee’s manager.

Armona Denizcilik A.Ş. is committed to conducting business with honesty and integrity. To support this commitment, we encourage employees, seafarers, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to report any suspected misconduct, unethical behavior, or non-compliance.

We want everyone to feel safe raising concerns without fear of retaliation. All reports are treated confidentially and reviewed appropriately. Where necessary, investigations are carried out to ensure concerns are addressed promptly and fairly.

By promoting transparency and accountability, we strengthen trust and continuously improve our safety, environmental, and compliance culture.
