Armona Denizcilik recently concluded a multi-day program in Manila, Philippines , culminating in the company's 21st Company Seminar on 17 September 2026.
The program brought together colleagues, seafarers, incoming cadets and industry partners through a series of engagements designed to strengthen cooperation, support professional development and encourage direct communication between the people who contribute to safe and effective maritime operations.
The Manila program began with an engagement with colleagues and partners at Status Manning Agency.
The meeting provided an opportunity to connect directly with local crewing partners, exchange perspectives and reinforce the working relationships that support Armona Denizcilik's seafarers and crewing operations.
Close coordination between shore teams, manning partners and those serving at sea remains an important element in supporting effective crewing and maintaining continuity across operations.
On 16 September 2026 , Armona Denizcilik conducted a familiarization training session for incoming Filipino cadets at Stella Maris Manning Agency in Manila.
The session, titled “Life Beyond Philippine Waters: A Cadet's Guide to the Multinational Ship,” was led by Welfare Officer Patricia Araza and focused on preparing cadets for their first experience working within a diverse, multinational shipboard environment.
A significant part of the training centered on cultural awareness and adaptation. Discussions covered cultural differences and similarities, communication styles, customs and social practices, the appropriate use of humor, mutual respect, and the importance of understanding and appreciating different backgrounds when working as part of an international crew.
The cadets also received practical guidance on preparing for the winter season. As the participants are accustomed to the tropical climate of the Philippines, the session addressed colder operating conditions, appropriate clothing and personal preparation, as well as the broader challenge of adapting to an unfamiliar climate.
Crewing Manager Batuhan Taş and Ali Kaan Akcan also participated, sharing practical advice and perspectives from the Turkish side. Their contributions gave the cadets additional insight into Turkish culture and working practices while reinforcing the importance of communication, adaptability and mutual respect in achieving effective integration within a multinational crew.
The program culminated on 17 September 2026 with the 21st Armona Shipping Company Seminar in Manila.
The seminar brought together participants for a full day focused on the people and operational priorities that shape work at sea.
Sessions addressed key areas including enclosed-space entry procedures, SIRE 2.0 vetting preparations, cultural adaptability and crew wellbeing, and the crewing journey from recruitment to retention .
Beyond the formal presentations, the program created opportunities for questions, discussion and participation, allowing experiences and practical perspectives to be shared among those in attendance.
The Manila program reflected Armona Maritime's continued focus on strengthening communication between sea and shore, supporting its people and promoting a culture in which safety, learning and wellbeing remain central to maritime operations.
By bringing together crewing partners, cadets, seafarers and shore-based colleagues, the program provided opportunities to strengthen established relationships while also helping prepare the next generation of maritime professionals for the realities of working at sea.
